  • 3mm Crochet Hook (or US C)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Fiberfill or any stuffing of your choice
  • Locking Stitch Marker
  • 100% cotton yarn (sport weight). You will need
    two colores:
    Color A: Main color (purple)
    Color B: For details (yellow)

sc = single crochet
inc = increase
dec = invisible decrease
(#) = number of stitches per round
Crocheting Notes:

  • Should you use the suggested crochet hook,
your Imigurumi’s final size will be about 4 cm
(1.5”). If you use a different hook and yarn, final
    measures will vary.
  • Unless it is otherwise indicated, every round is
    crocheted in continuous rounds.
  • To prevent little gaps between stitches in your
Imigurumi, make sure to crochet the pieces
tightly and to stuff them firmly (unless it is
    otherwise indicated).
  • Change the yarn’s color on the last step of the
last stitch of the previous color.
  • Square bracket instructions must be repeated
until the end of the round.

Using color A:

  1. 6 sc in Magic Ring (6)
  2. 6 inc (12)
  3. { 1 sc, 1 inc } * repeat (18)
  4. { 2 sc, 1 inc } * repeat (24)
  5. 24 sc (24)
  6. { 3 sc, 1 inc } * repeat (30)
    7 – 12. 30 sc (30)
Stuff the head while you progress.
  7. { 3 sc, 1 dec } * repeat (24)
  8. { 2 sc, 1 dec } * repeat (18)
  9. { 1 sc, 1 dec } * repeat (12)
  10. 6 dec (6)
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail. Using your
tapestry needle, weave the yarn tail through the front
loop of the 6 remaining stitches and pull it tight to
close off the body. Weave in the yarn end.

EARS (2x)
Make one in Color A, and the other in Color B

  2. { 1 sc, 1 inc } * repeat (9)
  3. 9 sc (9)
  4. (2 sc, 1 inc ) * repeat (12)
  5. 12 sc (12)
Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Do not stuff.

Using color B:

  1. 6 sc in Magic Ring (6)
  2. 6 inc (12)
    3 – 6. 12 sc (12)
  3. (1 dec, 4 sc) * 2 (10)
    8 – 9. 10 sc (10)
Stuff only half of the tail.
  4. (1 dec, 3 sc) * 2 (8)
  5. 8 sc (8)
  6. (1 dec, 2 sc) * 2 (6)
    13 – 16. 6 sc (6)

➔ You can make a longer tail by making more
rounds at the end.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail. Do not stuff.
Flatten the piece and using the tapestry needle, close
its borders with 2 or 3 stitches on each side, working
through both thickness. Leave the remaining yarn tail
for sewing.

✓ Sew the ears to the head.
✓ Sew the tail to the back of the body.
✓ Embroider the eyes between round 5 and 7. Do not cut the yarn in order
to continue with the nose.
✓ Embroider the nose in the middle of the eyes. Fasten off.
✓ Weave in all yarn ends inside your Imigurumi.
✓ And… THE END!
✓ You can also turn your “Cat-o” into a keychain!!!
