The word Amigurumi comes from Japanese. The Japanese call handicrafts knitted with crochet and needle as Ami. The Japanese call the toys that are filled with objects such as fibers or cotton as Nuigurumi. The word Amigurumi is derived as a combination of these two words.

Materials:

Yarn: Lira Vita Cotton (60% cotton, 40% acrylic, 150 m/50 g)

Hook size: 1.4 mm

Brown yarn for embroidering nose and eye brows

White yarn for embroidering eye whites

9-10 mm safety eyes

Satin ribbon for a bow

Sewing needle and scissors

Fiberfill

Abbreviations:

R = row

mc = magic circle (magic ring)

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

inc = 2 sc in the next stitch

dec = single crochet 2 stitches together

F.o. = fasten off

(12) = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row

( )* 6 = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

Arms (make 2)

With orange yarn:

R 1: 6 sc in mc (6)

R 2: (1 sc, inc)*3 (9)

R 3-5: 9 sc (3 rows)

Change to blue yarn:

R 6-11: 9 sc (6 rows)

Stuff only the bottom part of the arm.

Fold top of arm flat and 4 sc through both sides across.

With orange yarn:

R 1: 6 sc in mc (6)

R 2-10: 6 sc (9 rows)

Fold top of tail flat and 3 sc through both sides across.

With orange yarn:

Fold top of ear flat and 9 sc through both sides across.

Don’t cut the yarn when you will finish the second leg!

Crochet 7 sc on the second leg. The next row must begin at the side of the leg.

From second leg: 5 ch, join with the first leg.

R 12: 10 sc on the first leg, 5 sc in 5 ch, 10 sc on the second leg, 5 sc in 5 ch (opposite side) (30)

Continue crocheting the body in the round:

R 13: 30 sc

R 14: (4 sc, inc)*6 (36)

R 15-16: 36 sc (2 rows)

In the next row we’ll join the tail.

R 17: 13 sc, 3 sc together with sc of the tail, 20 sc (36)

Crochet 7 sc. The R 18 must begin at the side of the body.

Change to blue yarn:

R 18-20: 36 sc (3 rows)

R 21: (4 sc, dec)*6 (30)

R 22-23: 30 sc (2 rows)

R 24: (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)

R 25-26: 24 sc (2 rows)

Crochet some sc. The R 27 must begin in the middle of the body.

In the next row we’ll join the arms.

R 28: 3 sc, 4 sc together with sc of the 1st arm, 5 sc, 4 sc together with sc of the 2nd arm, 2 sc (18)

Change to orange yarn:
