What you’ll need

2.5mm and 3mm crochet hook
6mm eyes
filling
pink(fishtail), purple(bikini top), yellow(ruffles) and skin colored yarn (125m/50g)
turquois yarn for the hair

Stuff your mermaid
fold it, ch, turn and crochet your 9 stitches with 4sc together

2 ch, (dc, tc) in one stitch, (dc, sc) in one stitch, (dc, tc) in one stitch, (dc, 2ch and slip stitch) in last stitch

Ruffles

2.5mm crochet hook and yellow yarn
20ch, turn and start crochet in second stitch from hook
(slip stitch, ch, dc, ch)x9, slip stitch in last stitch
The ruffles should fit around the body of the mermaid to conceal the color change. Maybe you have to adjust the length of your ruffles, if you crochet more tightly or loosely than I do.

Arms x2

2-5mm crochet hook and skin colored yarn
2 ch, 6 sc in first chain from hook (or magic ring with 6 sc) (6)
1 round sc (6)
5 sc, 3dc crocheted together in one stitch (this is the thumb) (6)
7 rounds sc (6)

Bikini top

2.5mm crochet hook and purple yarn
18 ch, turn and start crochet in second stitch from hook, 17 sc
The rubikini top should fit around the upper part of the body. Maybe you have to adjust the length of your top, if you crochet more tightly or loosely than I do.

Assembly

Attach the arms, the ruffles and the bikini top to the body.
Create hair for your mermaid (this is a great tutorial and it’s really easy!).
Insert the eyes and apply a little eyeshadow or rouge if you like.
